The Diploma Programme (DP) centres on the DP core. The DP organizes teaching and learning through six subject groups. Students choose six subjects three at higher level and three at standard level.
Three components make up the core, Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Action and Service, which are studied alongside individual subjects and throughout a student’s time in the DP. These components provide a framework for the study of individual subjects.
For most courses, students take written examinations at the end of the DP. In all programme areas, students complete assessed coursework.
