MUN at ISR
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the real United Nations, providing students with an opportunity to debate and solve real-world issues in an educational environment while improving skills such as problem-solving and research.
MUN teaches many valuable skills and provides an opportunity to extend your knowledge outside of a classroom. It provides students with opportunities to connect with others and learn about the world. It specifically improves public speaking- and research skills, which are vital in the IB as well as further education.

At ISR we offer Model United Nations as a lunchtime activity, meaning that we have weekly meetings during which we go over parliamentary procedure, improve our diplomatic skills, prepare for future conferences and more. The meetings are led by the Executive Committee and supervised by the MUN Advisor, Mr. Shawcroft.

The ISR MUN Club attends conferences all around Central Europe, providing students with the opportunity to develop connections with other international students with a similar passion for politics and diplomacy.

Since Spring 2023 ISR has been hosting In-House MUN conferences, which are aimed only at current ISR students and provide them with an opportunity to further improve their skills.
In October 2023 ISR hosted its first conference open to other schools, RheiMUN23, which has since become an annual event.

The MUN Club is open to all MYP and DP students, as are most conferences.

All MYP and DP students are welcome!
